I've honestly been considering just going back to statues because they're generally bigger and already have decent enough poses and are easier to assembling and far less delicate. Granted I tend to find my pose and leave them alone. Crazy glue helps here too but still somewhat annoying. Asuna's sword sheaths are nearly impossible to take off without breaking once in place. Kirito s swords are prone to bending or warping slightly. Again crazy glue works but the wrist can't bend anymore which really fucking sucks for such an expensive figure. My Medusa rider also has a broken wrist on one of her weapon hands (only one hand per side actually holds the weapons, dual wielder). For example I have "Archer" from fate/ stay night and while trying to shove his stand's prong into his back one of the three dimensional pieces of his top front jacket fell off (one of his crosses).
I also find the soft textures of clothing to be very breakable. It's easy to break some weapons on accident when forcing the hand into the slot. I usually put the hand in before gently sliding the weapon into the hand. I recommend gearing or dressing them fully before posing. Accessories and wrists are the most delicate and prone to breaking easily. Bodies are generally sturdy and I find shoulders to be the most troublesome joints on some figures while no issue at all on others. Knockoffs will fall apart right out of the box and the paint jobs are shit and the joints weak and unable to hold a pose.įigma walks a fine line between sturdy and delicate. For an SH figure expect no less than $40 for a legit/real. their pieces and joints fall off a lot but pop back in just fine and without breakage, whereas figma. Newer ones are much less shit, in terms of. Newer things are cheaper obviously but older ones, even used, can be well near $200. For legit figma expect to pay within the $50-200+ range. I have legit figma (there are knockoffs made that look very much like the real deal inside the box, but real figma says "figma" on the stand and comes with a tall thin ziplock bag that also says "figma" to hold your extra parts, and the quality comparison between the real and knocking will be just shocking).
